BEATLES PLAYING FOOTBALL

Although not avid soccer fans, a couple of the Beatles did have some favorite teams.

Paul McCartney's support for both Everton and Liverpool FC was likely influenced by his father's roots in the city and his own knowledge of the clubs.

Ringo Starr reportedly followed Arsenal, which was a team his stepfather supported. John Lennon and George Harrison, however, seemed to have very little interest in the sport.

JOHN AND GEORGE MADE A SURPRISE APPEARANCE, 1967

John Lennon and George Harrison made a surprise appearance at a reception for area Beatle fan club secretaries, where an unreleased film of Magical Mystery Tour was screened, 17 December 1967.

In an act of appreciation for their fans, John and George personally signed autographs, took pictures, and spent time talking with secretaries. Everyone in attendance received a copy of the 1967 Fan Club Christmas Album along with the Magical Mystery Tour EP.
