John Lennon recorded "Give Peace a Chance" in Studio A at Trident Studios in London on June 30, 1969. The engineer for the recording was Ken Scott.
The recording was made just a few weeks after the famous bed-in for peace that Lennon and Yoko Ono had held in Montreal. The song was recorded quickly and simply, with Lennon playing acoustic guitar and singing a cappella. The only other sounds on the recording are the voices of Lennon's friends and associates, who can be heard chanting along with the chorus.
